PKMK UGM INVOLVEMENT IN FOCUS GROUP DISCUSSIONS (FGD)

Focus Group Discussions by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Republic Indonesia with the theme “ASEAN Health Diplomacy: Development Manufacturing of Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices towards Regional Independence and Resilience”. This activity began with forewords delivered by Yuliana Bahar as the Director of ASEAN Socio-Cultural Cooperation, Yuliana stated that one of the priorities of Indonesia's chairmanship in ASEAN is increasing health capacity in view of public health risk readiness also Indonesia to be Epicentrum of Growth ASEAN.
First explanation delivered by drg. Grace Lovita Tewu, M.Sc from Indonesian Ministry of Health, with the discussion about ASEAN health cooperation priority Indonesia’s chairman 2023 period. Second explanation presented by dr. Ira Cyndira Tresna, M.I.Kom about ASEAN Cooperation Disaster Health Management which is detailed on AIDHM, Safe Hospital, and ASEAN Academic Conference that be held in Yogyakarta. Last explanation presented by M. Rahman Roestan as the Director of Operation PT. Bio Farma stated that challenges and opportunities from the use of drugs and vaccines, especially COVID-19.
Discussion responder was by Director of Center for Health and Policy Management Universitas Gadjah Mada Dr. dr. Andreasta Meliala, M.Kes. MAS. Various phenomena from a pandemic that has been conducted are regional AMS security cooperation internally. The basis is to do well at the national level, especially ASEAN, such as the PoA ALD safe hospital which requires mapping of actors at the national level and AMS, as well as the use of drugs and pharmaceuticals and medical devices. Thus, there is visible harmonization in maintaining ASEAN's resilience and not competing with each other.
Discussion session included lots of input from all participants, primary from Indonesian Ministry of Industry, Indonesian Ministry of Cooperatives, MDMC, and Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In the end of discussion, dr. Andre stated that his gratitude for PKMK UGM being involved in ASEAN and AIDHM activities.
